Relatives demand to fix traces of torture in Dagestan resident
A sister of Omar Abdurashidov, a resident of Makhachkala, accused of financing terrorism, has held a picket demanding a medical examination of her brother for torture traces, and to punish the guilty law enforcers. An advocate has stated that the latter are pulling time for the wounds to heal up.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Abdurashidov's relatives announced his kidnapping on March 28 in Makhachkala. According to their version, on March 30, law enforcers searched his house and planted weapons there. Then, the court arrested Abdurashidov for 10 days. He stated that he had been tortured in an attempt to knock testimony against a high-ranking ex-law enforcer out of him.
Khairanat Gasanguseinova, Omar's sister, has stated that relatives were going to continue protest actions.
Salimat Kadyrova, the advocate, said that Abdurashidov was no longer subjected to torture, but was very depressed.
