Border guards would not let Russian bikers to Georgia

Bikers from Russia were denied entry because border guards treated the information about the aim of their journey as false, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported. The motorcyclists claim that their group of 30 bikers was driving to a rally in Greece.

Russian bikers were not allowed into the territory of Georgia by border guards of the "Kazbegi" checkpoint, the Georgian MIA has reported. "Russian citizens were denied entry into Georgia on the basis of subparagraph 3, Article 11 of the law on the "legal status of foreigners and stateless persons". This article states that a foreigner may be denied entry to Georgia if he/she fails to provide information, or provides false information about his/her trip aim," the "Interfax" has quoted the today's message of the Georgian MIA.

A group of 30 bikers, who, according to organizers, were driving to an international bikers' rally in Athens was not allowed to Georgia. "This happens every year since 2014. On May holidays, they don't let us to Europe. Border guards will say they don't want provocations," the "Deutsche Welle" has quoted one of the Moscow bikers as saying today.
