Two more road signs demolished on Dagestani-Chechen border
An unidentified truck driver has demolished two signposts with the designation of the Shelkovskoy District of Chechnya on the border with the Tarumovka District of Dagestan. A member of the Dagestani border demarcation commission has blamed republic's residents of fomenting a conflict with Chechens.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, a video appeared on the Internet of the demolition of a road sign with the inscription "Shelkovskoy District" installed in the outskirt of Kizlyar. On June 12, activists installed a signpost "Republic of Dagestan, Kizlyar District" opposite the Chechen sign.
Information about the demolition of another Chechen road sign appeared in the public rodnoy.dagestan on the Instagram.
Shamil Khadulaev, a public figure, has treated the demolition of signposts as a deliberate incitement of conflict with the neighbouring republic.
The Tarumovka District of Dagestan borders on the Kizlyar District; both districts have sections of the border with the Shelkovskoy District of Chechnya.
