NKR counts over 190 shelling attacks from Azerbaijan within a week

On June 16-22, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces used mortars and grenade launchers during their shelling attacks on the troops contact line, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has informed today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today Azerbaijan accused Armenia of 20 shelling attacks within the last 24 hours; and on June 21 – of 21 violations of the ceasefire regime and the use of grenade launchers. On June 21, the NKR's MoD stated that "this was misinformation" and "over the past few days, the Defence Army has not fired a single shot."

"On June 16-22, the Azerbaijani party violated the ceasefire regime for more than 190 times on the contact line of Artsakh (the NKR) and Azerbaijan. They fired about 2000 shots from weapons of various calibres in the direction of Armenian positions," says the statement released today by the press service of the NKR's MoD (the translation was made by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent).

The MoD has noted that the NKR "sticks to agreement on the preservation of the ceasefire regime."
