NKR counts 95 shelling attacks in conflict zone over the week

On July 14-20, Azerbaijani militaries fired more than 900 shots at the positions of the Defence Army, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 7-13, the NKR recorded 90 cases of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan.

After the meeting of officials of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFAs) of Armenia and Azerbaijan, held on June 20, Azerbaijan stated an almost complete cessation of shelling. However, since July 17, when, according to Azerbaijan, a soldier, Djeikhun Bairamov, was killed on the troops contact line, shelling attacks began to be recorded again on the daily basis. At the same time, the head of the pre-border rural community in Armenia reported that from July 11, Azerbaijani soldiers fired at the fields aiming to set them on fire, and at night on July 17, they shelled the village.

The MoD of the NKR fixed 90 ceasefire violations over the last week. "Over 900 shots were made in the direction of Armenian positions from weapons of various calibres," the "Caucasian Knot" quotes the report of the MoD.

The report states that for its part, the Defence Army of the NKR "strictly adheres to the ceasefire agreement."
