Law enforcers check drivers' documents at "Tangim" mosque in Makhachkala

On September 13, several dozens of law enforcers were checking documents of the drivers who drove their cars in the vicinity of the "Tangim" mosque in Makhachkala, the journalist, Idris Yusupov, stated. Nobody was detained during the raid, the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has reported in its turn.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers are regularly conducting Friday raids in the vicinity of the "Tangim" mosque in Makhachkala. In March, the mosque staff complained to the prosecutor's office, after which there were fewer detentions, but raids did not stop.

On September 13, another raid was conducted near the "Tangim" mosque in Makhachkala, in which several dozen law enforcers took part, the journalist, Idris Yusupov, who was present at the venue, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Mobile units were deployed in three places: on both sides of Omarov Street and in the lane between Akaev and Gagarin Streets, he said, adding that law enforcers stopped cars and checked drivers' documents. "At each point, there was a crew of the patrol service; its employees were in uniform and without it," Mr Yusupov has added.

The journalist believes that this arrangement of mobile posts allows maximizing the coverage of the mosque's parishioners who arrive for the Friday namaz (prayer) in their cars.
