Georgian protester released on bail
The defence had convinced the court to release Soso Badjelidze, who was charged with resisting the police and participating in the riots at the June 20 protect action in Tbilisi, from custody on bail.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in July, 2019, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Georgia qualified the protests in Tbilisi as an attempt to overthrow the power. On September 16, at least four of those arrested on charges of unrest faced trial – Alexander Zubiashvili, Besik Tatishvili, Vazha Todua and Zakro Gvishiani; they are accused of resisting the police.
A court in Tbilisi court releases Badjelidze on bail, the Georgian Channel One reports, adding that the court has also banned him from leaving the country. After Soso Badjelidze pleaded guilty at the court session, he was released, the "News-Georgia" reports.
