NKR hands body of killed soldier over to Azerbaijan

The remains of the soldier, Ramin Abdulrakhmanov, killed in the Karabakh conflict zone, were handed over to the Azerbaijani side with the mediation of the Red Cross.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has accused Azerbaijani militaries of committing an act of sabotage on September 22, announcing the death of one of the attackers. The Azerbaijani MoD denied the charges of sabotage. According to the MIA, the perished soldier, Ramin Abdulrakhmanov, got lost in the pre-border territory.

The body of an Azerbaijani soldier was removed from the neutral zone on the contact line of the troops of the NKR and Azerbaijan, Zara Amatuni, the head of communication programmes of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on September 24. At the today's briefing, David Tonoyan, the Armenian Defence Minister, has specified that the body was handed over to the Azerbaijani side in the evening on September 23.

Senor Asratyan, the press secretary of the NKR's Defence Army, insists that Abdulrakhmanov was killed in the course of a sabotage action. "If necessary, the Armenian side is ready to make the footage of an attempt of sabotage penetration by Azerbaijani militaries public," he has added.
