Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria hit rock bottom in terms of family income

Kabardino-Balkaria and the Stavropol Territory are among the ten regions with the highest percentage of families in which income is enough only for food. Ingushetia has become an outsider of the rating prepared by the "Rosstat" (Federal Service for State Statistics) in terms of the number of families which can only afford to buy food and clothing for their income.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that following the results of 2018, the republics of Northern Caucasus were included in the last ten of the rating of Russian regions in terms of the quality of living conditions. Karachay-Cherkessia took the 84th place in it, Ingushetia ‑ the 82nd, and Kabardino-Balkaria ‑ the 76th.

According to a new survey conducted by the "Rosstat", the percentage of Russian families in which income is only enough for food and clothing increased from 48.8% to 49.4% in 2019.

Meanwhile, the highest percentage of such families was registered in Ingushetia (78.8%). The ten regions with the highest percentage of such families also included the Krasnodar Territory (69.2%), the Astrakhan Region (68.8%), and Adygea (67.8%).

The top ten regions with the highest percentage of families in which income is only enough for food, and the purchase of clothing becomes already difficult, includes such regions of Southern Russia as Kabardino-Balkaria (30.1% of families) and the Stavropol Territory (27.5%).
