Baku: protesters demand to set convicts in "Terter case" free

On November 14, at a protest in Baku, relatives of the convicts under the so-called "Terter case" called for the acquittal and release of their imprisoned relatives and rehabilitation of those who have died.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that during the inquiry, eight persons were tortured to death; four of them were subsequently posthumously rehabilitated.

A group of militaries and civilians was arrested in Baku on charges of collaborating with Armenian special services and preparing acts of sabotage. The detainees were suspected of "planning large-scale provocations against the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) and dwelling settlements in the Terter District."

Relatives of the victims have repeatedly appealed to the presidential administration, but received no response, the "Turan" News Agency reports.

The police stopped the action and pushed its participants away from the building.

The protesters have stated a biased character of the inquiry and using torture to the defendants, which resulted in the death of eight of them.
