Putin blames Khangoshvili killed in Berlin of organizing explosions in Moscow metro
Zelimkhan Khangoshvili, who was shot dead in Germany, was one of the organizers of the explosions in Moscow metro, Vladimir Putin has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Zelimkhan Khangoshvili was assassinated in Berlin on August 23. His relatives have suggested that both Russian and Georgian special services were interested in his elimination.
"He was a militant and a very cruel person. In one action only, where he took part, 98 people were killed ... In the Caucasus, he was an active participant in hostilities on the side of separatists," Mr Putin has stated, as the "Interfax" reports.
Let us remind you that on December 6, it became known that the Russian, suspected of killing Khangoshvili, was transferred to the maximum security prison in Berlin, because of concerns about his safety. The suspect had served in the FSB's "Vympel" special unit, as reported on the same day as a result of a joint investigation conducted by The Insider, Bellingcat and Der Spiegel. According to journalists-investigators, the Khangoshvili's killer used a fake passport in the name of Vadim Sokolov.
