Makhachkala resident reports law enforcers' threats during their raid at Tangim Mosque

A visitor to the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala said that law enforcers tried, under far-fetched pretext, to detain him after the Friday prayer. Dozens of law enforcers took part in the raid at the mosque.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that law enforcers are regularly conducting their Friday raids in the vicinity of the "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala.

On Friday, dozens of them conducted their raid in the vicinity of the "Tangim" Mosque; their mobile posts were deployed in three places. They stopped believers' cars leaving the mosque after the Friday prayer, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.

One of the believers named Said told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent about law enforcers' attempt to detain him. "I got into my car; and a law enforcer immediately came up to me, stating that I had allegedly videoed all his colleagues standing on the road," the Muslim said. Then, a law enforcer in civilian clothes approached the car. "I told him that I had made no filming and could show the gallery [in my smartphone]. I was sitting in the car; and they closed the doors and didn't allow me to get out in order to explain them," said the believer, asserting that the agent in civilian clothes began threatening to "take him away."

The conflict was settled after approaching of another agent in uniform, whom Said had repeatedly seen during previous raids. "He said that everything was OK, and there were no problems. Thus, they let me drive away," the believer has concluded.
