Anokhina reports eviction of violence victims from shelter in Makhachkala

The managers of the Makhachkala shelter for domestic violence victims tried to drive into the street those of their clients, who refused to communicate with the media, Svetlana Anokhina, a Dagestani journalist, has reported.

According to her story, the women living in the crisis centre "Warm House on the Mountain" have faced eviction threats. The "Caucasian Knot" has not yet received any confirmation of this information from other sources.

On Friday (January 31), the apartment, where three women-domestic violence victims live with their eight children, was visited by the director of the centre, her deputy, policemen and a juvenile inspector, Ms Anokhina wrote in her Facebook page.

"That is, they simply betrayed their clients together with their children," the journalist has explained.

Svetlana Anokhina asserts that the conflict of the women with managers of the centre stems from the women's refusal to communicate with media: the managers of the shelter insisted that women should give interviews and take part in the filming, since the centre exists on grants and donations.
