In Ingushetia, underground weapons workshop found after attack on law enforcers
A workshop for converting demilitarized weapons into combat weapons was found in the village of Plievo, and submachine guns, pistols, TNT blocks, and grenades were seized from there, sources report today. The law enforcement bodies suggest that the workshop was organized by a man who had earlier opened fire during a search.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 14, in the village of Plievo (according to other sources, in the village of Ekazhevo), a search was conducted in a house of Ingush activist Yunus Vidzizhev, a participant of a March rally in Magas. During the search, law enforcers were shelled from a pistol, and the attacker managed to escape.
During searches in the Plievo village, law enforcers found a workshop for converting demilitarized weapons into combat weapons, a source reported. According to the source, the law enforcement bodies suggest the underground workshop was organized by the man who opened fire on law enforcers on February 14. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized from the underground workshop.
A criminal case has been instituted under articles on the illicit trafficking of arms, ammunition, explosives, and explosive devices, the "Interfax" reports today with reference to a source who preferred to remain anonymous.
