Despite coronavirus prevention, Grozny residents forced to attend "Akhmat" FC match

Officials continue forcing their subordinates to attend the "Akhmat Arena", despite the recommendation to avoid crowded places, Grozny state servants and students have complained. They noted that the stadium staff was wearing masks and gloves.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that authorities are forcing Grozny residents to attend matches of the "Akhmat" Football Club (FC) under a threat of firing from work or expulsion from universities.

On March 13, "Akhmat" FC lost 2:3 to Moscow "Dynamo". Khamzat, an employee of one of city enterprises, said that he was forced to attend the match.

The budget-funded state servants are still forced to attend matches, despite the restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus, said Akhmad, a student. "Just the day before, they seemed to be urging us to refrain from attending crowded places, to limit the number of major events and the like," he said.

On March 13, seven persons were hospitalized with suspected coronavirus in Chechnya.

Aslan has noted that he and his colleagues, who are obliged to attend football matches, visit the stadium in turn. "If you don't want to support 'Akhmat', take part in subbotniks or go to rallies, you must quit ... Thus, we have to do what they say, so as not to remain jobless," he has complained.
