Sochi woman complains about forced hospitalization

A resident of Sochi has been staying in a hospital box for the sixth day, and doctors took tests from her for coronavirus. The woman who returned from Italy treats her compulsory hospitalization as unreasonable and insists on home quarantine.

According to Elena Amosova, on March 15, she arrived in Moscow from Rome, but was not sent to quarantine. On March 18, the woman got a phone call: she was asked about her health state and requested to give her address. On March 19, she was visited by law enforcers who called an ambulance for her forced hospitalization.

Elena Amosova emphasizes that a doctor did not find any symptoms of the disease when examined her.

According to Elena Amosova, there is no ventilation or even the opportunity to ventilate a room in the infectious diseases ward, and a nurse call button doesn't work in the ward.

Prior to compulsory hospitalization, doctors are to propose a patient voluntary hospitalization, and upon refusal, they are to get an appropriate decision from a court, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Alexander Yenin, a member of the Krasnodar Territorial Bar Association.

Irina Kvasko-Alyasova, the spokesperson for the independent trade union "Alliance of Doctors", believes that in the case of Elena Amosova, the patient's right to a favourable environment has been violated.
