Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation intensifies its activities amid pandemic
The quarantine regime gave the Chechen authorities the opportunity to regularly report about charity events of the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation. In two days, four stories were reported by the Chechen TV Channel with statements of gratitude for food aid packages voiced by residents of Chechnya and other regions. However, some Instagram users considered the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation's activities to be demonstrative.
"Financial support in the amount of 20,000 roubles was provided to each of 6190 families. 12,094 low-income families will also be provided with assistance," the information agency (IA) "Chechnya Today" reports.
It was also announced that the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation organized an action "to deliver bread to all regions of Grozny every two days."
On April 2, according to the IA "Chechnya Today", the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation distributed food aid packages to 33,000 families.
Furthermore, the IA "Chechnya Today" quoted the Ramzan Kadyrov's promise to help residents of neighbouring Ingushetia "in the event of a coronavirus epidemic."
According to Ramzan Kadyrov, the republic receives money from Allah. Meanwhile, all public sector employees of Chechnya are obliged to transfer about 10% of their income to the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation every month.
Some users of social networks criticized the authorities of Chechnya for "demonstrative" help.
