Azerbaijan claims machine-gun shelling in conflict zone
During the last 24 hours, the positions of the Azerbaijani Army deployed in the Karabakh conflict zone and on the border with Armenia were shelled for 24 times, including from machine guns and sniper rifles, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 15, Azerbaijan claimed shelling of two villages by Armenia counting 22 ceasefire violations within the past 24 hours.
"By using large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles, during the last 24 hours, units of the Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire in various sections of the frontline for 24 times," the Azerbaijani MoD stated on its website today.
According to the MoD, the positions of the Azerbaijani Army stationed in the villages of Agdam and Kokhanebi of the Tovuz District and on the nameless heights in the Gadabay District were shelled.
As of 9:00 a.m. Moscow time today, the MoDs of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh had not commented on this statement in their websites.
