Instagram users argue who is responsible for difficult situation with coronavirus in Dagestan
It was too late when the authorities of Dagestan took measures against the coronavirus infection, some Instagram users claimed. Local residents themselves are to blame for the outbreak of the infection, because they violated the imposed restrictions, other users of the social network argue.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Dagestan still stays in the first place among the republics of the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) by the total number of cases of the coronavirus infection since the beginning of the pandemic, by their daily growth, and also by the number of patients today.
Khizri Abakarov, Mayor of Derbent, urged residents of Dagestan not to criticize the leader of the republic and the Minister for Public Health. According to the Derbent Mayor, the residents of Dagestan themselves are to blame for an increase in the number of cases of the coronavirus infection. "We in droves attended wedding parties and funeral ceremonies, we visited mosques, and we still continue to walk around the city, without complying with any precaution measures," wrote Khizri Abakarov.
However, many social network users blamed namely the authorities. "The government is to blame for not closing the borders and not imposing strict quarantine," said user kama_pulyaofficial.
Other users write in their comments that the problem is in organization of the medical officers' activities. "This is because doctors worked in droves without proper protective gear, and in the absence of the necessary medicines, people are treated with promises," writes user paraazziittt.
However, a number of readers condemned the local residents, not the authorities. "It's easier to point someone with your finger. People, didn't you think that you yourself became carriers of the infection, and your relatives are dead because of your fault? Had you been sitting at home from the very first day, then there would definitely not have been such high numbers of deaths," claims user khabib_aliev212.
