Media: charge of Gadjiev tightened without proofs of his guilt
The case of Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a Dagestani journalist, lack proofs, while the charges against him have been seriously toughened. Investigators have only testimonies of operative agents, of a secret witness, and journalist's articles, which prove nothing, the "MBKh Media" writes.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since June 2019, Abdulmumin Gadjiev, a journalist of the Dagestani "Chernovik" (Draft) weekly, is under arrest within the case of financing terrorism. Investigators have declared Gadjiev's involvement in the "Congress of Ichkerian and Dagestani Nations" and the "Higher Military Majlisul-Shura of Combined Caucasian Mujahideen Forces", the organizations recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.
According to the prosecution, Gadjiev transferred money to the accounts of the funds of the preacher Israil Akhmednabiev (Abu Umar Sasitlinsky), whom investigators treat as the organizer of financing terrorists through charitable foundations.
Gadjiev's criminal case has changed significantly over the year: initially, investigators believed that the journalist helped raising funds for terrorist activities; now, he is charged with three particularly serious articles, including participation in a terrorist organization.
Dana Sakieva, Gadjiev's wife, claims that the investigator did not even read her husband's articles.
Shamil Magomedov, Gadjiev's advocate, has noted that "over a year, investigators failed to provide the defence with full access to the case files."
