Residents of Azerbaijan claim place shortage in tent camp near Dagestani Kullar
Some Azerbaijani residents, who are waiting near the Dagestani border for the return to their homeland, have to stay not in the tent camp, but in hotels and surrounding villages, and spend their nights in cars.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that citizens of Azerbaijan could not get to their homeland due to the border closure. By June 24, additional places were deployed in the campground; and the inflow of newcomers to the camp has decreased.
On Tuesdays, they began sending to Azerbaijan groups of 200 people instead of earlier 120, said a man living in the camp. He has linked this with the protests that culminated in the arrests of dozens of Azerbaijanis.
According to his estimate, in total, about 1500 his compatriots are waiting for leaving Russia. He has noted that some of newcomers have to independently seek overnight stops.
Residents of the village of Kullar are greatly helping the Azerbaijan citizens staying in the camp, the man said.
Another camp resident, Rashid Sadykov, complained about the food quality provided by the Russian party.
Earlier, camp residents complained about the food, heat and uncertainty about returning to their homeland. On June 15, Azerbaijani citizens staged a protest action, which resulted in clashes with law enforcers. Four law enforcers and 10 Azerbaijanis were wounded.
