In Magas, protest of forced migrants ends in a clash with law enforcers

Law enforcers tried to detain forced migrants from Chechnya who gathered in front of the administration building of the leader of Ingushetia.

The forced migrants gathered in front of the administration building of the leader of Ingushetia to record a video appeal to the president. Law enforcers asked the activists to go to a police station and give explanations, but were refused. When the law enforcers tried to detain the activists, a clash occurred.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 18 families of refugees from Chechnya, who lived in temporary accommodation centres (TACs) in Ingushetia, were allocated housing in Grozny in August 2014. However, some families remained at the TACs. In April 2020, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) recognized the eviction of refugee Isiyat Dzaurova from a TAC as a violation.
