Georgian policeman fired after Azerbaijanis-Armenians conflict
In the Georgian village of Sadakhlo, a conflict broke out of local Azerbaijanis with a visitor – a young man of Armenian origin. After the incident, the young man's father was fired from the police.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported referring to political analysts that the development of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict may result in economic losses for Georgia and an influx of refugees.
Norair Gasparyan, a journalist of the edition named "Aliq", wrote in his Facebook page that a Georgian resident of Armenian origin was beaten up, but later the parties met and resolved the conflict.
According to the "24 news" Agency, the conflict broke out after the above young man arrived in the village and showed an indecent gesture to local Azerbaijanis. After the incident, the young man's father, a policeman, was fired.
According to Ramin Bairamov, the director of the NGO "Human Rights School" in the Gardaban District, in Marneuli, where Armenians and Azerbaijanis live compactly, such conflicts are rare.
According to Sabina Talibova, an activist of the NGO "Democratic Union of Mtredi", there are no prerequisites for interethnic conflicts in Marneuli. In her opinion, the incident may be related to someone's provocations, when a third party tried to use the young man to "blow up Azerbaijanis-Armenians interrelations."
