Arrest of Ingush activist Isropil Nalgiev extended
The court extended the arrest of Isropil Nalgiev, accused of attacking a law enforcer during a rally in Magas on March 26, 2019, by two months. The activist denies the prosecution's version of political motives of his attack.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Isropil Nalgiev was detained on February 4 and arrested on suspicion of using violence against a state official. His advocate, Khusein Guliev, claimed that although the detainees were accused of "using violence", "no video records, photos and victims' testimonies were presented to the court."
Initially, the 30-year-old native of the village of Ali-Yurt in the Nazran District of Ingushetia was suspected of participating in an extremist community, but later the charge was softened.
The advocate told the court that a baby is being brought up in the defendant's family, but the judge failed to support the defence's arguments. The advocate has also noted that Nalgiev is officially unemployed.
