Tbilisi hunger-strikers complain about health deterioration

On the eighth day of their protest, the women on a hunger strike demanding a large-scale amnesty for prisoners in Georgia have complained about weakness and dizziness. The organizers of the action announced a march in central Tbilisi.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 8, family members of the prisoners went on a hunger strike demanding a large-scale amnesty before the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 31. On September 12, the number of hunger-strikers reached 15, and on September 14 – 18 persons.

Now, a total of 18 women continue their hunger strike outside the parliament building in Tbilisi. The women complain of poor health, weakness and dizziness, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has reported.

Aiming to draw attention to the problem, the organizers of the hunger strike plan to hold a march along Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi on September 19. The hunger-strikers themselves will not take part in the march because of weakness.
