Baku and Yerevan agree not to shell civilians

At their meeting in Geneva, the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFAs) of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed not to attack peaceful settlements in the Karabakh conflict zone.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the morning on October 26, a new agreement on a humanitarian truce in the Karabakh conflict zone entered into force, but already during the first hours after, the parties exchanged accusations of violating the truce.

On October 30, at their meeting in Geneva, the heads of the MFAs of Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed that the parties to the Karabakh conflict "will not deliberately aim at civilians or non-military targets in accordance with the international humanitarian law," the RIA "Novosti" has quoted the OSCE's press service.

Besides, the parties stated that they would actively participate in searching for and exchanging the bodies of those killed in hostilities, ensuring the safety of such works, and also decided to transfer the lists of prisoners of war to the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for access and exchange, the RBC has informed with reference to the OSCE's press service.
