Nagorno-Karabakh residents are in no hurry to return home due to uncertainty

Shops began to open in Stepanakert; the 80% of the city receives electricity and gas, the Mayor of the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh has informed. However, not all refugees are ready to return, as they are worried about their safety and do not know how to restore their houses and households affected by shelling.

According to Araik Arutyunyan, President of Nagorno-Karabakh, the services of gas, electricity and water supplies, and mobile communications will be free for local residents throughout the year. He has also noted that the authorities will be engaged in restoration of houses.

By November 13, over 30% of the citizens who had temporarily left the city had returned to Stepanakert.

Karine Barsegyan, a Stepanakert resident, is now in Yerevan with her family; so far, she has no plans to return home to Stepanakert. "How can residents of Martuni live peacefully in their city when Azerbaijani positions are nearby?" she has asked.

Armine Grigoryan has lost her home and business in the city of Shushi. According to her story, in the first days of the war, she invited those who lost their homes to stay in her hotel, designed for 12 people.

Earlier, it was reported that apart from temporary housing, authorities offered jobs to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh arriving in Armenia.
