Investigators do not disclose accusations against Armenian officers

Investigators do not disclose the information in a case on the deaths of Armenian soldiers near Jrakan (Jabrayil), says human rights defender Araik Papikyan. Details of military operations in this direction are also not available for investigation, notes military expert Robert Nazaryan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a criminal case was instituted against officers of a military unit involved in the battles in the Jrakan (Jabrayil) direction.

Araik Papikyan, a lawyer of the Helsinki Association of Armenia, suggests that the case may deal with the unsanctioned leaving of service by some commanders or about the deaths of the soldiers as a result of panic actions.

"It could be desertion from the battlefield or incorrect orders with severe consequences," the human rights defender said.

It is impossible to reveal what had happened in Jabrayil during the period of the hostilities, while the information about some specific episodes of the hostilities has not been disclosed yet, military expert Robert Nazaryan reports.

On November 16, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported that in the period from September 27 to November 10, about 2400 Armenian soldiers had been killed, while hundreds others had been missed in action.
