CTO in Chechnya was third since start of year
The counterterrorist operation (CTO) conducted in the Achkhoi-Martan District of Chechnya, in which law enforcers liquidated an alleged militant, became the third in Chechnya since the start of the year. The previous CTO was conducted in Grozny in October.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechnya, has stated that the alleged militant, Kazbek Baidulaev, was killed during the shootout. Meanwhile, he had been earlier named among those killed on October 11.
The previous armed incident occurred in Chechnya on October 13 in Grozny. Law enforcers blocked the house in which, according to their data, alleged militants were hiding. In the shootout, four of them were liquidated; two "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) servicemen and one policeman were killed.
Prior to that CTO in Grozny, the previous shootout with the participation of law enforcers in Chechnya occurred on October 11. In that CTO conducted in the Sernovodsk District near the border with the Sunzha District of Ingushetia, two alleged militants were killed.
The October 11 CTO became the first in Chechnya in almost two years, according to the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot". The previous armed incident occurred in the Urus-Martan District in November 2018, when a man and a teenager armed with a rifle rendered resistance to law enforcers and were killed.
