Law enforcers resume their raids at "Tangim" Mosque in Makhachkala

In Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, policemen have raided the "Tangim" Mosque for the first time in several weeks, by copying the personal data of some of its parishioners. At least 40 law enforcers took part in the raid, Idris Yusupov, a journalist, has informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2020, law enforcers used to regularly conduct their Friday raids in the vicinity of the "Tangim" Mosque. For several years of raids, policemen brought several thousand believers to police stations and checked them; while the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) did not report any identified criminals. The official reasons for the raids are measures for "ensuring security" in crowded places, but the mosque's managers treat them as a form of putting pressure on believers. During the recent holidays, the raids stopped.

According to Mr Yusupov, this time, policemen stopped the cars of people leaving the mosque and copied the drivers' personal data.
