Teenager from Derbent released after abducting by law enforcers
A minor girl, detained by law enforcers in Chechnya, has been released and sent home to Derbent, Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan, has informed. The child was held for more than three months without explaining anything to relatives, her mother has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 13, 2020, in the Oktiabrsky District of Grozny, law enforcers blocked a house, in which, according to their information, alleged militants were hiding. In the shootout, four alleged militants were killed, two servicemen of the "Rosgvardia" (Russian National Guard) perished, and one law enforcer was wounded. After the counterterrorist operation (CTO), the owner of the house and his two wives were detained. One of the detained wives of the house owner was a 14-year-old orphan girl from Dagestan.
The 14-year-old girl, who had been detained in Grozny, is now back at large and is being taken to Dagestan, Mr Khadulaev has reported.
"We've just met the girl [...] and are taking her home to her mother," he has written in his Telegram channel.
"We are talking about the girl who was detained three months ago after a special operation in Grozny," the "Lifedagestan" Telegram channel has explained.
The fact that the girl is being held at some power structure in Grozny was reported by her mother, a resident of Derbent. "The girl, who is 14 years old, was abducted [by law enforcers] in Grozny," she said in her video appeal to Kadyrov, posted on the 1ADAT Telegram channel.
According to the mother, the child has been held since October 13, 2020, but no formal charges had been brought against her. The mother said that she was not allowed to see her daughter, and when she "said that they had no right to detain a minor child without her official representatives (mother or advocate)," she began receiving threats.
