Budget-funded Chechen employees complain about enforcement to vaccination

Employees of the budget-funded organizations in Chechnya have faced the demand to get vaccinated against coronavirus; otherwise they risk losing their jobs. Some of them have stated that they had made the decision to reject vaccination, and are ready to quit at their bosses' demand.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2020, 14 vaccination centres were opened in Chechnya; and as the vaccine arrives, they planned to open 11 more. Residents of Chechnya said that they were threatened with sanctions for refusing to get vaccinated.

An employee of one of the Chechen state structures named Markha told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she had only a year and a half left until retirement; and in case of forced vaccination she agreed to resign on her own free will.

"Nobody has been vaccinated in our institution yet, but the division boss said that they will vaccinate everyone, since we work with the population. To my remark that this is a voluntary matter, he said that I'll have to submit a voluntary resignation statement," Markha said.

Zura, a school teacher from the Vedeno District, also said that she was ready to quit her job, but not get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

"As soon as the principal says that all the teachers need to get vaccinated, I will immediately leave the school. It is useless to prove that it is illegal to force vaccinations almost by force. The one who has more rights is always right here," she explained to the "Caucasian Knot".
