Georgia agrees to hold JSC session in South Ossetia
The Georgian party has again confirmed its readiness to take part in an informal meeting of the co-chairmen of the Joint Supervisory Commission (JSC) for settling the South Ossetian conflict, which is planned for the second decade of February.
On January 29, Miguel Angel Moratinos, OSCE Chair-in-Force and Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, called the parties in the conflict to restart their negotiations and to search for efficient ways to reduce tension in the conflict zone.
Today, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, Russia's ambassador to Georgia, who has come back to the country after a four-month absence, has stated, after a meeting with Gela Bezhuashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, that it is necessary to resume the meetings of co-chairmen of the Joint Supervisory Commission (JSC).
