In video, Chechen law enforcer scolds three youngsters for supporting "Euroichkerians"

The head of the Gudermes ROVD (District Interior Division) has posted a video of his explanatory conversation with three young men, in which he criticized them for supporting the publications of the so-called "Euroichkerians", who criticize Chechen authorities.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Chechen law enforcers regularly reprimand local residents on various occasions and post videos of these "conversations" in social networks. The reason can be a violation of traffic rules, use of alcohol or drugs, witchcraft, and even wearing a niqab.

On February 14, Police Major Iskhak Chalaev, the head of the above Gudermes ROVD, reported about such an "explanatory conversation" with three young men, treating it as the implementation of the unified concept of spiritual and moral education and development of the younger generation.

According to Chalaev, the main point of the talk was mainly in "manifestations of terrorism and extremism on the Internet." Meanwhile, the video of the conversation, posted by Chalaev, speaks about "Euroichkerians" who, according to the ROVD boss, dislike the growth of religiosity in Chechnya.

According to his version, an "Internet war" is being waged against Chechnya. "If you have a mind, then [you should not] surf the Internet, subscribing to something incomprehensible, where they say all sorts of nonsense about our republic and about the people," the "Caucasian Knot" has translated Iskhak Chalaev as saying.
