V. Kocharyan: there are no prisoners of war and hostages in Nagorny Karabakh
The lists of the State Commission for matters of prisoners of war, hostages and missing people contain 800 residents of Nagorny Karabakh. General-Major Victor Kocharyan, Chairman of the Commission, told about it in his interview to the Public Television of Nagorny Karabakh.
Throughout the recent two years, the State Commission of the Nagorny Karabakh Republic (NKR), together with the Stepanakert Office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), has been updating the lists of missing people. The problem is that the ICRC was listing persons on the basis of applications of their relatives, while the Commission is accounting the persons, the data on whom is provided by the heads of rural communities and District administrations. Therefore, the lists differ.
In the words of V. Kocharyan, today, there are no Azerbaijani prisoners of war and civil persons in Nagorny Karabakh. During the latest four months, three trespasses of the NKR border were registered. The captured Azerbaijani soldiers assert that they ran away from non-manual relations in their army.
