Police cordon off parliament building in Yerevan

Law enforcers have encircled the building of the Armenian Parliament, in front of which a protest action by Nikol Pashinyan's opponents is held. Both additional police forces and opposition supporters are gathering in the square in central Yerevan.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 25, the General Staff of the Armenian Army demanded resignation of Nikol Pashinyan, the Prime Minister. Yerevan townspeople also took to the streets and blocked roads in protest. Clashes broke out between them and Pashinyan's supporters. Activists set up tents and spent the night of February 26 at the parliament building.

There are about 20 tents set up in Bagramyan Avenue.

Law enforcers took the parliament building into a circle. The overall situation is calm, the "Sputnik Armenia" reports.
