"We Ourselves": masses of Georgians run away from Galskiy District of Abkhazia

Paata Davitaya, leader of the political movement "We Ourselves," has stated that many Georgians of the Galskiy District of Abkhazia are leaving their homes because of their unwillingness to take part in elections on March 4, and those who stay at home "will be forced to vote under the gunpoint," and asked the authorities to protect the Georgians who live in Gali.

In Mr. Davitaya's words, on March 4, a whole range of acts of opposition is possible between Mr. Bagapsh and Mr. Khadzhimba in connection with the number of people, whom they will bring to the polling stations.

Davitaya also demands to initiate criminal cases against all who wish that on March 4 as a result of parliamentary elections in Abkhazia "the power pass over to Abkhazian separatists."

"What happens today in Gali is a result of the authorities' failure to initiate in due time criminal cases against the power capturers. Consequently, today the situation in Gali is so hot that separatists move to Zugdidi territory, shoot and kidnap young Georgian people," Mr. Davitaya has told today at the press conference.
