A criminal case against the commander who sent his soldier to mines opened in Chechnya
A criminal case has been initiated in Chechnya in relation to a commander of one of military units, for whose guilt, in the version of the investigation, two soldiers were wounded. The fact was reported today by the "Interfax" IA with reference to a source in law enforcement bodies of Chechnya.
The representative of law enforcement bodies has explained that "the Military Prosecutor's Office of the Shali garrison has opened a criminal case against a commander of an army unit. The suspect is a senior officer."
According to the version of the investigation, "under his order, a group of servicemen was sent to an area, where, according to the map of mine fields, non-extractable mines had been planted." Two soldiers of this scout group received wounds of different gravity, the source has told.
The incident took place in November 2006. Currently, the investigation is finding out all its circumstances. The surname of the unit commander is not disclosed, the message of the IA REGNUM runs.
