Border guards refuse to release Magomed Gadaev, deported native of Chechnya

Magomed Gadaev, a native of Chechnya, deported from France, was left in the transit zone of Sheremetyevo Airport; he was not released by FSB agents, who intend to send him to Chechnya. Gadaev claims that he'll face torture and murder in his homeland.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Magomed Gadaev, a 37-year-old refugee from Chechnya, injured his stomach in order to disrupt his deportation from France to Russia scheduled for April 9.

According to the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper, after arriving in Moscow, Gadaev was not given a chance to contact his family and even eat for 24 hours.

A border guard has explained Gadaev's restriction of the freedom of movement by the absence of a Russian passport. Meanwhile, he has a certificate issued by the Russian Embassy in France; and it is enough for identifying his personality, the "Novaya Gazeta" asserts.

Gadaev also said that law enforcers interrogated him for several hours, asking about the reasons for his departure from Russia and extradition from France.

Gadaev was kidnapped and kept at the base of some power structure; but he managed to get out and go abroad. He had lived in France for 11 years.

Gadaev is a board member of the "Bart Marshaw" organization, as well as a member of the Assembly of European Chechens.
