Azerbaijan accuses Armenian soldiers of shelling border guards

Azerbaijani border guards were shelled in the village of Seyidlyar from the direction of the Armenian border, the Azerbaijan’s Border Guard Service reported.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on April 21, residents of the Syunik Region, who supported the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, blocked the road to prevent the passage of his motor convoy. Nikol Pashinyan himself had to leave the city of Agarak.

After Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to the Syunik Region, Azerbaijani border guards were shelled from the Armenian side on the border with Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan’s Border Guard Service reported.

In the evening of the same day, Armenian soldiers shelled units of the Azerbaijani border guards in the village of Seyidlyar in the Zangelan District, as well as units of the Russian FSB’s Border Guard Service on duty in that direction.

Furthermore, “in the direction of the Shurnukh village in the Gubadly District, a group of people in 30-40 cars was moving towards the Azerbaijani border and shouting anti-Azerbaijani slogans in the Armenian language,” the Azerbaijan’s Border Guard Service reported.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Nagorno-Karabakh has announced launching an investigation after shelling attacks on residential buildings in Stepanakert, as well as the villages of Shosh and Mkhitarashen, which occurred on April 20.
