Third of NGOs audited by "Rosregistratsia" are religious ones
One third of the non-governmental organizations (NGOs) subject to check in 2007 by the Federal Registration Service of Russia ("Rosregistratsia") are religious ones. There are three human rights organizations, and no ecological NGOs at all in the auditing plan of "Rosregistratsia" for this year, the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" has analysed.
Twenty-three out of sixty-six all-Russian and international non-commercial organizations (NCOs) included into this year's the list of the entities subject to check by "Rosregistratsia" of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, published in the web-site of this Service, are religious or are directly referred to such. The officials gave preference to Christian churches (Church-Scientific Centre "The Orthodox Encyclopaedia," "Salvation Army," etc.), but did not leave alone also other confessions: Moslems, Jews and Buddhists.
The state has decided to make a special trace not only of cult adherents but women as well. The honourable second place in the line for auditing belongs to women organizations. They are 11 in number: from the society of women-entrepreneurs to the mothers' union "For Global Transformation."
