Georgia is ready to partner Turkmenistan in gas transportation
Georgia is ready to become a reliable partner in transporting Turkmen gas to the world markets through the South Caucasian corridor. This was declared by Zurab Nogaideli, prime minister of Georgia in Ashkhabad, where he is now at his two-day visit.
During his meetings in the government of Turkmenistan, Mr. Nogaideli has also discussed the issues of tripartite economic cooperation of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. He told journalists that a tripartite meeting is planned for the near future for this purpose.
In the course of the meeting of the Georgian prime-minister with the members of the cabinet of Turkmenistan, the main issues were the projects of economic cooperation, namely: provision by the Georgian party to Turkmenistan of a short and cheap transit corridor to Europe and payment out of the Turkmen debt. They also discussed the issues of deliveries to Georgia of Turkmen gas, however, no particular decision on the issue has been made so far.
