South Ossetia will build its own gas main
South Ossetia is planning to build its own gas pipeline, independently from Georgia. The statement was made on February 16 by Eduard Kokoity, president of South Ossetia. "We'll build it by the labour force of our enterprises to provide citizens with normal cheap gas. Now South Ossetia has to buy gas from Georgia at three times the price," Mr. Kokoity has emphasized. Besides, he has informed that in the near future the problem will be resolved on construction of a bypass power transmission line (PTL) Java-Tskhinvali, the NTV informs.
We remind you, as the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" has reported, that yesterday, on February 16, the president of South Ossetia gave a press conference in Moscow to Russian journalists. Eduard Kokoity began his presentation with a statement that he found it necessary a prompt renewal of the negotiating process within the framework of the Mixed Control Commission (MCC).
