Azerbaijan marks the Memory Day of the victims of Azerbaijanis' genocide
Today Azerbaijan marks the Memory Day of the victims of genocide against Azerbaijanis who perished during the events of March-April of 1918. On that day, March 31, 1918, armed regiments of Armenian Dashnaks with support of Bolshevik leaders of the Baku Commune committed a massacre of peaceful Azerbaijani population. In Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, and in regions, about 50,000 Azerbaijanis were murdered, many settlements, monuments of architecture, mosques and medreses were ruined. Only after the advent of Turkish troops to Azerbaijan, the mass slaughter of Azerbaijanis had stopped.
