Abkhazia refutes robbery of UN mission
The Galskiy District Office of the UN Mission to Abkhazia was not exposed to any plunders, the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" was informed today by Vadim Mysnik, Public Relations Officer of the Mission of UN Military Observers. In his words, "robberies of Mission's employees by unknown persons indeed took place on April 2 and 4, when they were deprived of their valuable belongings." However, Mr. Mysnik did not specify what sort of employees had been plundered - local or foreign ones.
Laurens Kogoniya, head of the Galskiy District Interior Department ("ROVD") assured the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot" that the information about robbery of the Galskiy UN Office had nothing to do with reality. According to him, an Office's local lady-employee named Kobaliya was plundered. He emphasized that she had refused even to inform the Galskiy "ROVD" about the incident, and militiamen had learnt about it from other sources.
Laurens Kogoniya treated the information about the robbery of the Galskiy UN Office to be a provocation.
