Thousands of Saakashvili's supporters gather at Rustavi Prison

In front of the prison, where Mikheil (Mikhail) Saakashvili, an ex-President of Georgia, is kept, an action began with a demand to place him into a private hospital and cancel the outcomes of the municipal elections.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Saakashvili's supporters are holding actions demanding his release. The Georgian State Security Service (SSS) has stated that activists are planning to kill one of the opposition leaders and block government buildings for the sake of achieving resonance.

Thousands of people took part in the above action. Some of them arrived in Rustavi in a convoy of about fifty cars.

"In the near future, we'll achieve Saakashvili's transfer to a civilian medical institution, and then – his release," said Giorgi, a painter.

"Today, the main thing is to protect the life and health of the third president of Georgia. But then Georgia will face the task of holding new elections and forming a new power," David Metreveli, an immigrant from Israel, has stated.
