NGOs of Stavropol Territory: authorities ignore migrants' problems
A roundtable on the topic "Integration Problems of Migrants into Local Community - Russian and Swiss Experiences" was held in Stavropol Territory.
According to Yuri Efimov, head of the Foundation "Assistance-South," there is no duly-established interaction between state bodies and the public in migration issues in Stavropol Territory.
By different estimates, the Territory gives shelter to up to 200,000 forced resettlers from Chechnya and former USSR republics. In different times, many top-level officials of the regional level, including the current governor Alexander Chernogorov, announced a surprisingly high population of forced resettlers in the Territory - from 0.5 to 0.7 million persons, at the total Territory's own population of 2.7 million.
