Awarding Chechen minister for advocacy sparks ridicules in social media
The decoration of Akhmed Dudaev, a Chechen minister, with a medal for the protection of human rights (advocacy), and awarding Chingiz Akhmadov, the head of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (the Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company), for the development of civil society are ridiculous, Instagram users have noted.
Akhmed Dudaev, the Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information, received the medal "For the Protection of Human Rights" and the honorary badge "Patriot of Russia" at a meeting with regional media professionals. At the same meeting, Said-Selim Abdulmuslimov, the first deputy of Akhmed Dudaev, and Chingiz Akhmadov, the ChGTRK "Grozny", received medals for their merits in the development of the civil society, says the publication posted in the evening on December 8 in the ChGTRK's page on the Instagram.
Commentators in social media have treated the news of the awards as ludicrous. "If you find where to laugh at, let me know, please" the user hazallasarralc has written today.
The reader of the "Caucasian Knot" with the nickname jonathan.greenfelder has recalled the practice of public apologies on air of the "Grozny" ChGTRK. "I have a question to Nukhazhiev: how is Dudaev involved in 'protecting human rights'? Is it because the television he controls is regularly showing reports with citizens' public apologies? Or by staged videos in which relatives are condemning critics of Kadyrov's regime? Dudaev (like any other Chechen official) has no merits in 'protecting human rights," the reader has stated.
