Head of Kabardino-Balkarian MIA calls clerics to counteract religious extremism
Today, on May 3, Yuri Tomchak, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, held a meeting with Mufti Anas Pshikhachov, Dean of Orthodox churches of Kabardino-Balkaria Valentin Bobylev and Chief Rabbi of Kabardino-Balkaria and Nalchik Levi Shabaev, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent informs.
Minister Tomchak has called the churchmen to join the struggle against religious extremism, child neglect, offences on motorways, and also with violations of the law by the workers of internal affairs.
In his turn, Mufti of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Pshikhachov has stated that the Spiritual Department of Moslems of the Republic, unlike a year ago, has no more claims to law-enforcement bodies. However, he has noted that religious extremism is still present in Kabardino-Balkaria.
