Khasan Khalitov reports about kidnapping of his relatives in Chechnya

Khasan Khalitov, a critic of Chechen authorities living in Turkey, has reported today about the kidnapping of at least five his relatives living in Northern Caucasus.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September, Khasan Khalitov, a blogger living in Turkey, accused Chechen law enforcers of kidnapping his relatives in Chechnya. According to his story, the kidnapped relatives were released a few days later.

At least twice, Khasan Khalitov's relatives recorded video messages addressed to him. On October 14, a video message from Khasan's brother, Ramzan Khalitov, appeared in social networks, in which he harshly condemned Khasan for criticizing the Chechen leadership. On November 30, a video message by Khasan Khalitov's father, Gani Khalitov, was posted. He accused his son of slandering the Chechen leadership and stated that he wanted to kill him.

Khasan Khalitov has reported on the kidnapping of five of his relatives today in his Telegram channel "We are receiving information that Khasan Khalitov's close and distant relatives have also been kidnapped, even those of his relatives whom he does not know. Apart from Khasan's father and brothers, the following relatives have been kidnapped: Muslim Uzarov, Magomed Uzarov, Abu-Muslim Avdaev, Mokhamad (Khasan's uncle) and Adlan (surname unknown)," Khasan Khalitov's Telegram channel has informed.

However, Khalitov failed to specify the primary source from which the message was re-posted.
